Do I buy a book with a movie cover? Do I want to keep looking at Toby Maguire? Do I spend the $2? Do I go with the better cover for more money?Do I feel ridiculous for even asking these questions?
I have a deep insecurity with enjoying books turned into movies. I tell myself I’m able to read faster and stay focused if I’ve seen the film. On the rare occasion I read a book before it becomes a movie (::looks at Hornby::) it’s comparable to the feeling you get on the way to work when you jump in subway car before the doors close.
Books made into movies are like a visual synopsis. It’s only cheating if you admit to enjoying it.
