Liars - Plaster Cast of Everything (clean)

While considering the artistic importance of music videos I thought of what directors are at least contributing to respectable art form.

A few years ago I was able to work on a Yeah Yeah Yeahs’ music video for Turn Into, which was directed by Patrick Daughters. Aside from what production horror stories I can tell you Daughters was definitely one of the most visual directors I’ve ever worked for. I just discovered this Liars video which could be evidence that music videos, while heavy-handed and trite at times, can still effectively promote another medium while creating a respectable product itself. And yet there are so few directors who can really get a good visual accompaniment to music unrelated or unrelatable to already established art work.
